Downright Gourmet Cooking Club

Annie's family loves to cook, and they are all really good at it. Aunt Sue thought it would be fun to do a cooking club where one person would host each month and show the rest of the group how to make something. Aunt Sue started us off by showing us how to make kolaches. They originate from the Czech culture, and the dough has a little sweetness to it. Originally, Sue suggested putting things like pie filling, jam, lemon curd, etc in the center. But, with all the creative minds in the kitchen, we decided to see what it would taste like with some parmesan cheese, cream cheese, provolone, etc. Needless to say, they all turned out to be really, really good.

Vegas: Day 3

We went to the MGM Grand for lunch and walked past the Lions.
Not sure why the guy is sitting in there with them. I was a little bummed that it seemed to be nap time for the lions too when we were there.

Another Tom Colicchio restaurant. This one was more fast food with flair.

Super delicious pannini, my mouth's watering as I type this.

Annie and I got tickets to see The Lion King. It was one of the best musicals I've ever seen. The props and costumes that they use are simply AMAZING!!!

Waiting for the show to start. Since it was so hot outside, the AC inside was on full blast. I had to buy a sweater before the show started because I was freezing!

We stopped by a candy store to get some treats for the show.

Dinner that night was at Olives. It's a restaurant in the Bellagio with a balcony over the water where they do the water shows.

It was amazing to see the water show from this angle and so close!

Getting ready to indulge!

I can't remember what this was called, but it was some kind of squash ravioli.

Annie's steak that was so tender and delicious.

Creme Brulee

I love the garden in the Bellagio. I love that they change it for every season, and the intoxicating smell of the flowers is one of my favorite things.

Overall, it was a really great trip. Tiffany was kind of a downer the whole time we were there, and I've made a mental note to not do any more road trips with her. Besides that though, we had a good time and got to eat some killer food, and really that is a big part of what I'm looking for in vacations now a days. =]

Vegas: Day 2

Day two was spend doing way too much walking and eating some really delicious food!

Taking the shuttle from our hotel to Caesar's Palace

I tried to find this restaurant when I lived in New York, but no such luck. So the one in Vegas will have to do.

My amazing heirloom tomato salad. YUM!
Sorry for the crappy picture, we were sitting outside under a pink canopy, hence the all pink picture.

The famous frozen hot chocolate. It was very delicious, but I would have preferred more chocolate and less whipped cream.

Nothing's better then dinner at Bucca di Beppo's.
Stacy said this is her new favorite Italian restaurant. YAY!

Apple Gorgonzola Salad

Stacy loved that they use a giant tomato can to set the pizza on.

Chicken Parmigiana

One of the best Pepperoni Pizza's you'll ever eat!
